Mono Lake and Bodie Ghost Town

Mammoth Lakes, California

California’s Bodie State Park is the largest preserved Gold Rush Ghost Town in America. These one-day workshops in creative landscape photography are fun for photographers of all abilities from novice to professional. From 1850 to 1860, Bodie was a bustling mining town with sixty brothels and saloons on its main street. Prospectors uncovered over one hundred million dollars in gold nuggets. Then, as abruptly as it was built, Bodie became a ghost town when the gold ran out. Thanks to the State of California, approximately 40 structures remain – creating a chance for photographers to recapture the spirit of a unique chapter in the history of the American West.
